Acclaimed Bay Area vocalist Tiffany Austin brings Ella-Bration! to Meyhouse Jazz, celebrating the music and enduring influence of Ella Fitzgerald, the legendary “First Lady of Song.”
Known for her rich, expressive voice and an approach shaped by jazz, blues, soul, and the African American musical tradition, Austin has performed with artists including Pharoah Sanders, Roy Ayers, and John Handy, and has appeared at venues and festivals across the United States, Asia, the UK, and Australasia. Her recordings have received recognition from NPR’s Fresh Air, DownBeat, and All About Jazz, with her 2018 album Unbroken reaching #16 on the jazz radio charts.
For Ella-Bration!, Austin turns to the repertoire and musical spirit associated with Ella Fitzgerald—an artist whose extraordinary sense of swing, phrasing, and improvisation helped define jazz singing for generations.
