In Songs of Love, Loss, and Laughter, the Oakland vocalist and composer brings a new suite of original music to Meyhouse Jazz, finding humor in life’s missteps and tenderness in its harder moments. Drawing on jazz, Brazilian music, soul, and R&B, her songs move between poignant storytelling, funky grooves, and swing.
