Dhaya Lakshminarayanan (Represents India)
Dhaya is an award-winning comedian, storyteller, and former venture capitalist with two MIT degrees—yes, a proud nerd—who blends intellect, absurdity, and cultural commentary into a sharp, unforgettable voice. She’s won the Liz Carpenter Political Humor Award (previously given to Samantha Bee and Wanda Sykes), was Comedy Central Asia’s Ultimate Comedy Challenge Grand Prize Winner, and is featured in the documentary NerdCool, which premiered at the LA Comedy Festival. Named one of KQED’s “Women to Watch” and SFist’s “Comedians to Go See Now,” Dhaya has performed internationally, sold out her solo play Nerd Nation, shared stages with Janeane Garofalo and Marc Maron, and technically opened for Al Gore. She’s hosted and told stories on NPR’s Snap Judgment, PBS’s High School Quiz Show, and The Moth in San Francisco—and once even co-headlined a full Asian Art Museum takeover with RZA from Wu-Tang Clan.
