Join us for an evening of chamber music that travels across continents and styles as Classical Sundays continues at Meyhouse Jazz with an intimate performance by two-time GRAMMY Award–winning violinist Mads Tolling, joined by pianist Ian Scarfe.

This special program, From Grieg to Gershwin, traces a graceful arc from the lyricism and folk-inflected romanticism of Edvard Grieg to the rhythmic vitality and elegance of George Gershwin. Along the way, the music reveals surprising connections between European classical traditions and the emerging American voice—brought vividly to life by two master musicians in close musical dialogue.

Mads Tolling is internationally celebrated for his expressive tone, stylistic versatility, and communicative presence. A former longtime member of Turtle Island Quartet, Tolling has earned two GRAMMY Awards and built a career that bridges classical music, jazz, and contemporary composition with exceptional artistry and warmth.
