About the event
Join us for a deeply intimate and richly expressive evening as Meyhouse Classical Sundays presents the Fong–Costanza Family String Trio, led by renowned cellist Christopher Costanza, Artist in Residence at Stanford University, alongside violinist Debra Fong and violist Ezra Costanza.
Performing together regularly throughout the Bay Area and beyond, the trio brings a rare level of musical trust and shared intuition to the chamber music stage. Their collaboration blends familial connection with world-class artistry, offering performances that are both emotionally resonant and finely crafted.
The program spans three centuries of string repertoire, moving fluidly between iconic masterworks and contemporary voices. Music by J.S. Bach anchors the evening in timeless clarity and grace, while Ravel’s Sonata for Violin and Cello brings intensity, precision, and modern elegance. Contemporary works by Paul Wiancko and Carlos Simon reflect the trio’s commitment to living composers, including music written specifically for this ensemble.
The second half culminates in Dohnányi’s Serenade…
