Join us for Classical Sunday at Meyhouse Jazz as 16-year-old violinist Ava Pakiam and pianist Cole Anderson present Sonic Highways — a vibrant program tracing musical journeys across styles, landscapes, and generations.
Already an accomplished young artist with performances across the U.S. and a Carnegie Hall debut to her name, Ava brings remarkable maturity and musical depth to the stage. Together with Cole Anderson, she explores a program that moves from the open-road energy of John Adams’ Road Movies to the jazz and blues influences of Ravel’s Violin Sonata No. 2.
Works by Amy Beach, Michael Abels, Mason Bates, and William Grant Still bring moments of lyricism, reflection, rhythmic drive, and contemporary color, creating a musical journey between romance and rhythm, stillness and motion, European tradition and American sound.
