Widely respected by fellow musicians, Washington is known for his depth, clarity, and command of the music. Under the direction of Wynton Marsalis at Jazz at Lincoln Center, he has been described as “a real improviser who brings depth to everything he does.” That spirit—grounded, responsive, and alive to the moment—defines his work on stage.
