About the event

Two rhythmic traditions, meeting in real time.

Trumpeter Erik Jekabson and saxophonist Michael O’Neill bring together straight-ahead swing and Afro-Latin rhythm in a way that feels natural and exciting.

You’ll hear swing and clave move in and out of each other — a band that knows how to shape the groove in both traditions.

With master musicians Erik Peralta (piano), Dan Robbins (bass), and Brian Fishler (drums), the rhythm section is part of the conversation — listening, supporting, and shaping things as they happen in real time.

The program moves between original tunes and standards, played with a clear sense of time and feel.

A strong band, a deep groove — and the kind of interaction that only happens live.
