Step into the rhythm and soul of Cuba with A Night in Havana, an intimate evening of Latin jazz featuring Cuban rhythms, soaring flute, heartfelt vocals, and the bright, distinctive sound of the tres cubano.
This one-night-only quartet brings together four Bay Area musicians: Kai Lyons on guitar and tres cubano, Dr. John Calloway on flute and piano, Julio de la Cruz on bass, and Einar Leliebre Nuñez on vocals and percussion.
Rooted in Afro-Cuban traditions, the group blends rhythmic drive with rich jazz harmonies and the intimacy of a musical conversation. Moving between lively grooves and delicate interplay, each musician brings a distinct voice to arrangements shaped by their shared sense of rhythm, melody, and connection.
