One of Cuba’s most extraordinary pianists, Jorge Luis Pacheco brings the sound, spirit, and rhythmic vitality of Havana to Meyhouse Jazz with his trio in Live from Havana.
Known for his breathtaking virtuosity, explosive energy, and deep connection to the musical traditions of his native Cuba, Pacheco moves fluidly between Afro-Cuban rhythms, modern jazz, Latin jazz, Cuban boleros, and danzón, shaping each performance through sophisticated improvisation and a distinctly contemporary voice.
Joined by Gerson Lazo-Quiroga on bass and Reinier Mendoza on drums, Pacheco leads a trio built around spontaneity, rhythmic interplay, and musical conversation. His expressive vocals add another dimension to the evening, creating a performance that can move from lyrical and intimate to exhilarating within moments.
