About the event

Jackie Ryan Sings Ellington: A Tribute to the Duke

Step into the golden age of jazz as Jackie Ryan, one of today’s most powerful and expressive jazz vocalists, brings her rich voice and magnetic stage presence to the music of Duke Ellington, one of America’s greatest composers and bandleaders.

From romantic ballads like “In a Sentimental Mood” and “Prelude to a Kiss” to swinging classics like “It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing),” Jackie delivers Ellington’s masterworks with elegance, emotion, and deep respect for the tradition. With her dynamic range, impeccable phrasing, and deep connection to the lyrics, Jackie Ryan transforms every song into a personal statement of artistry and soul.

She is joined by a world-class trio of jazz veterans:

  • Michael O'Neill on saxophone, bringing warmth and lyrical fire to Ellington’s iconic melodies,

  • Ruth Davies on bass, whose rich tone and steady groove have made her a favorite of legends…
