Pianist and composer Frank Martin and saxophonist-composer Michael O’Neill reunite for an evening inspired by the places, cultures, and landscapes they have encountered around the world.
From the vibrant markets of Bangalore and the sun-soaked rhythms of Trinidad to the majestic heights of Kilimanjaro and the ancient echoes of Tikal, Martin and O’Neill transform their travels into vivid musical impressions. Through original compositions, the quartet explores the variety and beauty of the world in sound—blending jazz, global influences, improvisation, and cinematic storytelling.
The evening is both a reunion and the beginning of a new collaboration. Martin and O’Neill first performed together as members of the jazz-fusion composers’ collective Solstice before their careers took them in different directions.
Martin went on to build a remarkable international career performing and recording with artists including Sting, James Taylor, and Stevie Wonder, composing musical impressions along the way.…
