Ramana Vieira is an American singer renowned for her contemporary interpretations of traditional Portuguese fado music. Born in San Leandro, California, to Portuguese immigrant parents, she was exposed to both American pop and traditional Portuguese music from an early age. Her grandfather, a musician and composer from Madeira, significantly influenced her musical journey. Vieira's passion for fado was ignited during a visit to Portugal at age 16, leading her to study intensively with local fado musicians. She has released several albums, including Sem Ti (Without You) (2000), Despi a Alma (I Undressed My Soul) (2004), and Lágrimas De Rainha (Tears of a Queen) (2009).er original song "Para Amar" was featured in a video montage for the 2006 Winter Olympics.
