About the event

Rooted in jazz tradition and shaped by a contemporary voice, Classic Jazz, New Voice brings the spirit of swing and the Great American Songbook to today’s audiences.

New York–based clarinetist and saxophonist Nathan Tokunaga, originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, approaches classic jazz with both deep respect and fresh perspective. His playing connects past and present — honoring the music’s history while bringing a youthful, modern energy to the stage.

A 2026 YoungArts® winner in jazz clarinet, Nathan has performed at leading venues and festivals including Jazz at Lincoln Center, Birdland, Smalls Jazz Club, Lindy Focus, and the Healdsburg Jazz Festival.
