Celebrate the spirit of the holidays with an extraordinary evening of music and storytelling from pianist Larry Vuckovich, the only student and longtime collaborator of Vince Guaraldi, the beloved composer behind the A Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack.
Larry’s personal connection to Guaraldi offers a rare and intimate window into the life, music, and legacy of one of America’s most cherished jazz voices. As Larry recalls:
“When Vince finished composing Cast Your Fate to the Wind, I was at his house for a lesson. He said, ‘Let me play you something I just wrote.’ It sounded so fresh — unlike anything else at the time.”
Vuckovich was more than a student — he was handpicked by Guaraldi to be his piano partner in a two-keyboard quintet called Powder Keg. Over the years, their friendship grew into a musical brotherhood filled with shared gigs, creative sessions, and historic moments — including one night when…
